Chocolate-Banana Protein Smoothie

Red lentils give this smoothie a plant-based protein boost. To make this vegan smoothie, try an unsweetened coconut drink or almond milk instead of milk.


Ingredient Checklist

  • 1 banana, frozen 
  • ½ cup cooked red lentils 
  • ½ cup nonfat milk 
  • 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder 
  • 1 teaspoon pure maple syrup


Combine banana, lentils, milk, cocoa and syrup in a blender. Puree until smooth.
